7–9 University embankment, St Petersburg
On May 18, St Petersburg University will hold the Reunion, a large-scale science and culture festival. On its 295th anniversary, the University will open its doors to everyone who wishes to attend the event.
The extensive popular science programme of the event includes everything from big science to everyday practices, as well as lectures and public discussions, scientific experiments and tours to private laboratories, special events for younger visitors, music, and delicious food.
The Reunion is a traditional event that has been gathering SPbU graduates from all around the world for four years now. It is always organised by the University's Alumni Association, which has decided on the new, open format of the festival this year.
Since SPbU is celebrating its anniversary this year, we want everyone to have a chance to experience the atmosphere of universal knowledge. It is the first time that such a prominent Russian research and education centre has adopted the format of a summer festival and decided to open its doors to everyone interested.
Vera Konashenok, Acting Executive Director of the Alumni Association
Reunion 2019 is a celebration of several key dates: the anniversary of St Petersburg University, the 150th anniversary of the periodic table, the 100th anniversary of the Department of Genetics and the 200th anniversary of the Department of Mineralogy.
