St. Petersburg State University Language Testing Center conducts the following tests:

Registration for tests

To register for the test of Russian as a foreign language (including language test for citizenship purposes) and the integration exam on the Russian as a foreign language, Russian history and fundamentals of legislation of the Russian Federation for the part-time residence, residence permit and for work permit you have to:

  • apply in person at St. Petersburg State University Language Testing Center at Lieutenant Schmidt emb. 11/2, St. Petersburg;
  • have an ID as well as other official documents containing information with the correct spelling of name, surname in Russian and English

Registration for tests and delivery of the certificates is on Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m.

 Certificates are issued in 3 days

Applicants who pass the test successfully can obtain their certificates in 3 days only on grounds of the document used at registration.

Integration exam certificates are valid for 5 years after the test dates.
All the TORFL certificates do not have an expiry date.
Applicants who fail the integration exam or the TORFL receive an inquiry with results that is valid for 2 years.

Retake policy for exams

Applicants who fail the Integration exam or the TORFL receive an inquiry with results that is valid for 2 years. To retake the integration exam in Russian as a foreign language, Russian history and fundamentals of legislation of the Russian Federation or the test of Russian as a foreign language you have to:

  • apply in person at St. Petersburg State University Language Testing Center at Lieutenant Schmidt emb. 11/2, St. Petersburg;
  • have the document used at registration;
  • have an ID as well as other official documents containing information with the correct spelling of name, surname in Russian and English.

Duplicates

Duplicates are given in case of misspelling. To obtain a duplicate you have to:

  • apply in person at St. Petersburg State University Language Testing Center at Lieutenant Schmidt emb. 11/2, St. Petersburg;
  • have the document used at registration;
  • have an ID as well as other official documents containing information with the correct spelling of name, surname in Russian and English.

The original certificate is not valid after issuing the duplicate. Duplicates are ready in 3 days after application on grounds of the document used at registration.

Exam policy for people with disabilities or special requirements

Testing for applicants with disabilities or special requirements on an individual basis. People with the first group of disability are exempt from the test in Russian as a foreign language, as well as the integration exam in Russian as a foreign language, Russian history and fundamentals of legislation of the Russian Federation.

People with the second or the third group of disability may be exempted from taking the individual subtests of the test of Russian as a foreign language, as well as the integration exam in Russian as a foreign language, Russian history and fundamentals of legislation of the Russian Federation:

  • applicants with partial or complete loss of hearing and / or speech function are exempt from taking Listening and Speaking subtests;
  • applicants with partial or complete loss of vision have the right to take an individual test, held in oral form in a separate room in the presence of an assistant (tutor).
