VRS Program at a Glance

 

Research development is a top priority of St.Petersburg University mapping out its further growth. It is based on the SPbU Strategic Plan 2020 aimed, among other things, at comprehensive development of research, expert activity and innovation.

The priority areas of research include:

  • nanotechnology and materials science
  • biomedicine and human health
  • information systems and technology
  • ecology and sustainable use of natural resources
  • social research and technologies
  • human resource management and technologies

 

SPbU hosts more than 1800 visitors from partner universities, colleges, research laboratories and centers, government agencies who conduct research using St.Petersburg University facilities.
The Visiting Researcher Scholar Program (VRSP) was established to accommodate scholars to pursue their research and professional interests on the SPbU campus.

Visiting researcher scholars are individuals who possess an academic degree, and whose primary purpose for residence on the SPbU campus is to conduct independent or joint research or who need supervision and guidance provided by SPbU academic staff.

VRS Program Key facts:

  • Available for Russian and non-Russian visitors
  • Fee-based program
  • Personal Research Schedule & Personal study plan
  • Supervisor advice and guidance
  • Duration (non-Russian) up to 90 days (3 months)
  • Visa support and guidance for all visiting researcher scholars
  • Accommodation options for all visiting researcher scholars
  • Russian / English / other language of instruction
  • Access to the University and campus libraries, access to certain campus facilities, research labs and SPbSU Research Park facilities.

Please, note that VRS program is tuition fee-based program and visiting researcher scholar positions are not compensated. Visiting researcher scholars cover by their own tuition fee, living expenses, travel costs and other expenses.
