  • The programme provides an opportunity to receive a rigorous philological education. In addition to the practical course in English and a second foreign language (Russian, French, German, Spanish), graduates are trained in the following theoretical disciplines: English-speaking Nations: Linguistic and Cultural Perspectives; History and Culture of English-speaking Nations; Introduction to Germanic Philology; Linguoculturology; Modern Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages; Theoretical Issues in English Grammar; History of English; Literature of Great Britain and the USA; and Theoretical Phonetics of English to name just a few.
  • All undergraduate students do compulsory teaching and translation practice. There is an opportunity to participate in academic conferences held at the University. In the middle of the 4th year, undergraduate students take an English language test. As a final examination, students defend their graduation projects.
  • In addition to general cultural competences, graduates of the programme also acquire the following professional skills of: translation and consecutive interpreting; teaching particular courses in the field of study; carrying out, under academic supervision and independently, local research based on existing methods in a particular field of linguistics; preparing scientific reviews, summaries, drafting abstracts and bibliographies on the topics of research conducted; participating in scholarly discussions; making reports and presentations orally, or making written and virtual presentations of their own research materials; personal computer skills; applying modern methods of teaching foreign languages; and developing and designing syllabi and teaching materials for foreign language teaching.
