Additional Educational Programmes

St Petersburg University offers a wide range of additional educational programmes which allow you to get familiar with the subjects beyond your curricular. If you are passionate about studying foreign languages, apart those that are included in your curricular, you can choose an additional education programme in Chinese, Japanese, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Greek, Arab, Azerbaijani, and Hebrew, to name but a few. You can also choose to study law, economics, sociology, IT, psychology.

The programme is tailored to teach the foreign students the basics of Russian law (including Russian Commercial Law, Civil Procedure Law, Tax Law and Labor Law), to familiarize the participants with Russian legal culture and legal system. The programme involves a total of 3 ECTS credits. The participants will get lectures from the leading professors of the Law Faculty, participate in discussions, prepare the final presentation, and will even get a unique possibility to visit the Constitutional Court of Russia!

Key features of the programme

Bachelor and Master students (and graduates) of foreign universities can take part in the programme. The Summer School will be held in English, therefore the sufficient knowledge of English is an essential requirement for participation.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the students’ dorm is available upon request for 10 euro a night in the double room, 20 euro – in a single room. The dorm is situated in the center of Saint Petersburg on Vasilevskiy island.

The deadline for the application is 20 May 2021 in case if Russian educational visa is not needed to enter the country, if you need an educational visa please apply before 30 April 2021.

The programme provides career counseling and prepares students for enrollment in colleges and universities. Students expand and develop knowledge of Russia’s political culture, history, social life, and traditions through an independent research under the supervision of an academic expert. Teaching is done in English

The programme of independent research runs under the supervision of an academic expert from Russia. The language of writing and assessment is English.

Key features of the programme

The advantage of the programme is an individual approach to choosing an academic expert. This allows to balance research interests of a student with the focus area of an expert.  The programme is an opportunity to engage in the University research with an aim to make more informed decisions when choosing avenues of further research as part of other educational programmes of any kind. 

Accommodation

The programme runs for six weeks (49 study hours including 12 contact hours).

Type of enrollment: full-time

Upon the completion of the programme and final assessment, graduates obtain a duly-executed SPbU certificate.

  • The Politics of the Image
