Students attend lectures and seminars in English in the following topics specified prior to the beginning of the programme:
- Topics in Post-Soviet Russian Politics
The course focuses on the political structure of modern Russia, major trends in Russia’s domestic and foreign policy, geopolitical interests of Russia in the global world.
- The Cultural Myths and Realities of St Petersburg
The role of St Petersburg in social, economic, political and cultural life of Russia. From imperial capital to cultural capital: on the transformation of city’s image from its foundation to the present day. The image of St Petersburg as seen by culture professionals: past and present. Window to Europe: St Petersburg within European and international cultural process.
- The Politics of the Image
Major development prospects for Russian culture and art in face of political change. Uniqueness and continuity of Russian art against the backdrop of Russia’s foreign policy. Russian art as seen by a foreigner: stereotypes and universal images.
The programme runs for four weeks with 48 study hours in total (contact hours).
Type of enrollment: full-time
Upon the completion of the programme and final assessment, graduates obtain a duly-executed SPbU certificate.
