St Petersburg University is ranked 97th among world universities for the quality of teaching natural sciences in the subject ranking of the Round University Ranking (RUR) for 2021. In just a year, St Petersburg University has moved up 75 positions and is listed among the top Diamond League of the world leading universities by this indicator.
Another indicator in which St Petersburg University has shown significant growth is financial stability. By this criterion, the University has significantly improved its position in the RUR ranking and moved from the Bronze League straight to the Golden League. It moves up 153 positions and takes 168th place. This makes it possible for the University to enter the world top 200 universities by this indicator. The remarkable thing is that earlier the high quality of financial management was confirmed by the results of the annual monitoring of financial activities carried out by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. St Petersburg University has become the top university and the second one (after the Russian Foundation for Basic Research) among organisations and chief administrators of federal revenues in Russia.
In general, according to the totality of criteria, the University has moved up 60 positions in the RUR 2021 ranking in natural sciences and is listed 226th in the world. For reference: St Petersburg University is also listed in the Diamond League in the RUR 2021 overall ranking in the Teaching ranking in all subject areas. In just a year, the University has moved up 16 positions by this indicator and takes 73rd place in the world.
The Round University Ranking is an international ranking of universities that has been published since 2010.
