St Petersburg University online courses help Mariupol State University
St Petersburg University will deliver free online courses for academic programmes of Mariupol State University in order to provide educational and methodological support in the current situation.
The course list will include: history; law; finance; computer science; journalism; psychology; sociology; and other popular fields of study.
‘We hope that this step will help to restore the teaching and learning process rapidly and effectively at Mariupol State University. Additionally, it will determine further steps for productive interaction between universities,’ said Vladimir Starostenko, Director of the Centre of E-Learning Development at St Petersburg University.
Earlier, in August 2022, a meeting was held between representatives of St Petersburg University and Mariupol State University. During the meeting, they discussed current areas of joint work and signed a network cooperation agreement.
According to this procedure for cooperation, the universities interact as following: one university acts as a base organisation that admits applicants to an academic programme, awards scholarships, and conducts state final assessments; while the second university acts as a participant that implements online part of an academic programme, providing educational, methodological, research, and teaching assistance.
The main advantage of network cooperation is training of much-in-demand highly qualified specialists.
