Summer School of Russian as a Foreign Language

Course description

The Summer School is a great opportunity to combine a visit to one of Europe’s most beautiful cities with the study of Russian language and culture.

The Summer School allows students to not only to learn more about the Russian language, master Russian speaking skills, but also to immerse themselves into the inimitable atmosphere of St Petersburg. The course teaching staff is implementing teaching methods without intermediary language. Visiting St Petersburg famous sightseeing spots will inspire students to the further study of the Russian language and the Russian culture.

You will learn to sing Russian songs, give a sightseeing tour and even write poetry — all in Russian!

The Summer School educational programme includes:

  • comprehensive practical classes in Russian
  • visit to SPbU, the first university of Russia
  • academic excursions and walking tours around the University
  • thematic lessons (aquainting students with Russian history, traditions, and culture)
  • visiting sightseeings of St Petersburg
Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the Summer School, students will:

  • be able to maintain a conversation in Russian
  • ask questions in Russian
  • learn more about life in Russia, its history and traditions
