Programme description
  • Students of the programme in Cartography and Geoinformatics receive knowledge in the field of cartography, geoinformatics, aerospace methods, and geodesy
  • The programme provides a broad fundamental university education. The curriculum includes general professional disciplines in the field of Earth sciences, as well as disciplines concerning: cartographic and geodesic, geoinformational, legal and economic support; and cartographic and geoinformational activities. The programme offers a wide range of elective courses
  • Students prepare for professional activities during their practical training and internships using advanced technologies on modern equipment. They are also involved in projects implemented in partner organisations. The programme also includes a system of lecture courses, seminars, and workshops that integrate domestic and world achievements in these areas
  • The programme is designed to train multi-skilled specialists in cartography, geoinformatics, aerospace methods and geodesy. They will have professional, general scientific and general cultural skills sets. Graduates of the programme will be able to perform job functions in accordance with professional standards in the field of cartography, geoinformatics, aerospace methods and geodesy
  • The professional activities of graduates who have mastered the bachelor’s programme include work in both public and private organisations involved in cartography, geoinformatics, geodesy and aerospace remote sensing of the Earth's surface or those that use these technologies in their activities

  • The programme provides a broad fundamental university education. The curriculum includes general professional disciplines in the field of Earth sciences, as well as disciplines concerning: cartographic and geodesic, geoinformation, legal and economic support; and cartographic and geoinformation activities. The programme offers a wide range of elective courses. It also includes a system of lecture courses, seminars, and workshops that integrate domestic and world achievements in these areas
  • Graduates of the bachelor’s programmes speak English at a level of proficiency comparable to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • The academic programme has been designed taking into account professional standards and the views of employers
  • The programme is unique in that it provides a broad education, which is achieved through a range of courses in different disciplinary areas. A disciplinary field is a subject field that includes one or more academic disciplines that are aimed at developing in students a certain set of competencies including interdisciplinary ones
  • The programme is implemented in cooperation with the Self-Regulating Non-Profit Organisation ‘Cadastral Engineers of St Petersburg and the Northwestern Federal District’ (Agreement on Cooperation with St Petersburg University in the field of geodesy, land surveying and cadastre dated 22 October 2015)

The programme is internationally accredited by the Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and Career Development (AKKORK), the Certificate dated 30 May 2018.

The programmed has professional and public accreditation from the Association of Geological Organisations, Certificate No 005 dated 23 May 2018.
