International Labour Forum: SPbU

March 1–2, 2018, St Petersburg holds the II International Labour Forum to encourage the world and Russia’s leading industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges the labour market has. It is organized by the St Petersburg Government, St Petersburg University, and ExpoForum-International.

St Petersburg International Labour Forum is the lead platform in Russia to discuss human capital and to bring a coherent approach to developing the Strategy of Human Capital Development of the Russian Federation to encourage and promote benefits of the world’s cutting-edge research and best practices to benefit Russia overall.

The Forum focuses on The Labour of Future: Talents, Technologies, Inventiveness.

The Business Programme of the Forum will discuss how to attract talented people and develop their potential and performance, what labor of the future will be, how to work out the legal bases of the labour market for the new generations who are just entering the labour market, what automation and digital technologies have the potential in industry and how they influence the labour market. The Forum also aims to identify demographic and technological risks and the factors that encourage and develop the human capital to meet the demands of innovation economy.

At the Forum, St Petersburg University will offer a range of conferences, round tables and project sessions that focus on voluntary work, human capital development, transnational migration, corporate training, and tax tools regulating the market to name but a few.

Held in March 2017, the I St Petersburg International Labour Forum was a landmark in labour sphere: the plenary session was opened by the Chairperson of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. The members of the Forum were also greeted by Governor of St Petersburg Georgii Poltavchenko. The Forum featured about 50 international conferences and events, with over 300 industry experts as speakers and 5,000 directors and specialists as participants.

SPbU shared its experience in incorporating the innovation technologies in education by opening educational clinics and formulating the professional competences the graduates must obtain upon completion of the course. The conference “Economic function of the labour code: past, present, and future” will discuss digital economy and legal foundations of the market regulation. Moreover, the Forum will feature an exhibition “SPbU at the Age of Digital innovations” that will tell about the information technologies in business-education interaction, up-to-date format of education, on-line courses, and prospects for working out the professional competences through additional educational programmes.

February 28, SPbU Campus Mikhailovksaia Dacha will held the St Petersburg International Youth Labour Forum to encourage the generation Z to discuss the most urgent and up-to-date issues of labour market and employment opportunities for young people and to meet with the authorities, business, and non-profit organisations. The potential employers will tell the students about economic situation and prospects and unemployment tools.

The Youth Labour Forum will work at the five platforms.

The workshops and training sessions of the “Lektorii” aim to increase the students’ legal awareness and literacy and help them reveal the trends in how the traditional professions are going to be changed. The Research Conference will provide an opportunity to share your research findings in labour market situation and challenges.

The platform “Interactive” will enable young researchers to model a working space of the future, to work out the road map of the industry and gain team-working skills. The platform “Exhibition” will tells us through the current projects that focus on how to master a variety of skills to develop well-rounded persons, while the platform “Career” will provide an opportunity to meet the potential employers.

The Forum aims to bring together the students of the leading universities in Russia to discuss employment opportunities, unemployment issues, human capital, labour mobility, how to choose a career and how to excel in your career.
