New online course at St Petersburg University to help you learn Spanish from scratch
Spoken by over 500 million people, Spanish ranks second worldwide in terms of native speakers and fourth in terms of total speakers. St Petersburg University is launching a new online course intended for a wide range of students, from those who would simply like to become acquainted with the Spanish language and culture to those who already have a basic knowledge of the language and wish to go further.
Online course Spanish for Beginners
"Spanish for Beginners" is the first stage in a series of courses developed at the University. It is composed of four modules. They are based on grammatical and lexical materials essential for use in everyday speech, and also a country studies section, whose materials contain lexis corresponding to the topic of the module, colloquial expressions and exercises in visual listening comprehension with Russian subtitles. Animated characters, voiced by native speakers, will help students develop correct pronunciation and improve their listening skills. The modules are accompanied by tasks to be used in practicing the material that has been covered.
Students will become familiar with the basic constructions and vocabulary at the A0-A1 level (Pre-Beginner — Beginner) according to the international classification for proficiency in a foreign language.
