The registration of participants for Petropolitan Science (Re)Search, an olympiad for students and young professionals, has already started!
For the third time in the 2018/2019 academic year, St Petersburg University is the organiser of Petropolitan Science (Re)Search, an open Olympiad for students and young professionals.
This year the Olympiad has acquired the international status. Now not only Russian students but also participants from other countries can take part in this intellectual competition and apply for postgraduate studies at St Petersburg University on special terms.
On 15 October the registration began for the preliminary round in 17 subjects. The list of subjects includes mathematics, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary research. More than one subject may be chosen.

The preliminary round participants are offered assignments in the subject of their specialisation. It may be: writing a research paper or an academic essay; the presentation of a scientific project; solving problems; passing a test; and even recording a video.
The challenge of the final round in most subjects is a ten-minute public defence of the individual project in front of a jury consisting of St Petersburg University teachers. The contestants will also take an additional written test.
The Olympiad is aimed at encouraging the young talented professionals, who, based on their in-depth knowledge and a broad scientific outlook are ready to contribute to the progress of science, including the interdisciplinary fields of knowledge
