SPbU among the top 50 in the Times Higher Education
St Petersburg University is in the top universities with the best student-to-staff ratio 2018.
In 2018, SPbU takes the 34th position, leaving behind the University of Zurich (Switzerland), Columbia University (USA), University of Tokyo (Japan), National Institutes of Applied Sciences of Lyon (France), and Linkoping University (Sweden). The rankings feature the top 100 universities with the best student-to-staff ratio globally.
A lower student-to-staff ratio can help students to cultivate closer relationships with their lecturers, have quicker access to essay feedback, and get involved in more interactive seminars and discussions, says THE.
The rankings feature 11 Russia’s universities, including:
- Far East Federal University
- National Research Nuclear University MEPhI
- Tomsk Polytechnic University
Among the top 50 is Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Novosibirsk State Polytechnic University, and Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University.
In the THE World University Rankings, among the carefully calibrated performance indicators the student-to-staff ratio 4.5%.
