St Petersburg University launches a unique academic programme in lobbying and public communications management

The programme combines Russian and international best practices necessary to influence efficiently the political decision-making process.

The programme is unique in its wide range of courses: lobbying and GR (government relations); modern press service; information support of the activities of state and municipal authorities; political consulting; political rhetoric; and speechwriting. The lecturers are prominent practitioners: managers and top managers of communication agencies; political strategists; corporate communications consultants; authors of teaching materials; and winners of professional prizes and awards.

The training process involves interaction with the professional community. The concluded agreements make it possible for students to deepen their theoretical knowledge and gain new experience. They will have practical training or internship in one of the partner companies, which include: Gazprom Neft; Pulkovo Airport; MegaFon; BBDO Moscow; SPN Communications; and other Russian and international organisations. To implement joint activities, the University collaborates with universities in Germany, Norway, the USA, China and Poland, including: the Free University of Berlin; Beijing International Studies University; and George Mason University.

The programme responds to the emerging and future demands of the labour market. It takes into account the needs of Russian and global business community, and trains master’s students with unique and sought-after competencies in strategic communications. Young professionals will be able to work in: commercial firms; government agencies; political parties and public organisations; and Russian and international media.

This is a full-time, two-year programme, and there will be scholarship and paid tuition places. You will find admission policies here.
