VII International Natural Sciences Tournament had been held in Saint Petersburg
November 15-21, St Petersburg University hosted the Russian league of the VII International Natural Sciences Tournament (INST), where students and alumni of the Russian universities applied their knowledge to solve technological problems and defended their ideas.
St Petersburg welcomed 23 teams of young scientists from Russia, over 13 cities, who fought for the 1st place.
The INST is a team competition, which is both a conference and Olympiad. The main goal of the competition is to teach students how to apply their knowledge to solve practical, scientific and industrial problems.
The participants presented their solutions to the authoritative jury, held debates on current issues, met potential employers and made a sightseeing tour across St Petersburg. The jury consisted of the representatives of the companies: ANALIT Ltd, Pharmsynthez, SNS-Pharma, Biocad, and research experts.
The winner is the team «Created by brains» from Novosibirsk, followed by a joint team «Entropia» from Minsk and Moscow, while the 3rd place went to the team «E.coli in the wild» from Novosibirsk. The owner of the gold medal, «Created by brains», was invited to represent Russia at the International league of the Tournament, which will be held in Agra, India next year.
