Within the framework of the 3rd Federal Forum of Leaders in the Digital Economy "Digital Diamond," held in Yakutsk, St Petersburg University concluded agreements with two leading scientific and academic organisations of the Republic of Sakha. The documents were signed by Sergey Mikushev, Vice-Rector for Research at St Petersburg University.

St Petersburg University and the Yakut Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have signed a cooperation agreement, under which joint projects will be implemented in two key areas. One of the areas is research conducted by the Neva Delta Innovative Science and Technology Centre. The other area is concerned with academic activities, which include training in master’s and doctoral programmes.

As part of the collaborative efforts on the projects of the Neva Delta Innovative Science and Technology Centre, special attention will be paid to the study of ecological conditions, human life safety, green technologies, and agricultural biotechnology. Additionally, the partners will focus on the research of new materials and technologies applicable in the Arctic, as well as addressing issues of digitalisation and automation within high-tech industries. According to Mikhail Cherosov, Acting Director of M.G. Safronov Yakut Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture — Division of Federal Research Centre "The Yakut Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences," further cooperation will include discussions on joint projects with the Centre for Diagnostics of Functional Materials for Medicine, Pharmacology and Nanoelectronics at St Petersburg University.

"The St Petersburg University Research Park is a unique technological complex unparalleled in Russia and, in several research areas, worldwide. We are ready to provide our partners with our resources and the expertise of the University’s scientists to collaborate on projects that will ensure the sustainable technological development of the region," said Sergey Mikushev, Vice-Rector for Research at St Petersburg University.

The main topic of the 3rd Federal Forum of Leaders in the Digital Economy "Digital Diamond," was the digital transformation of regions, identified as one of the priorities for the country’s development. More than 2,000 participants from various regions of Russia attended the event. The business programme features approximately 40 events organised into four key areas: Digital and Innovative Development, Digital Content, Security and Telecommunications, and Educational Technologies. The Forum is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

An agreement has been signed with the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts. As part of this cooperation, St Petersburg University and the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts plan to collaborate on the creation of new academic programmes, the development of the scientific journal "Culture and Art of the Arctic," and the engagement of leading scholars from the region, the country, and abroad in the implementation of joint projects.

"The signing of an agreement with St Petersburg University will enable the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts to enhance its work on interdisciplinary research activities, nurture academic personnel, and launch new products and technologies in creative industries that will contribute to the creative development of Yakutia and the regions of the Far East and the Arctic," said Sargylana Ignateva, Rector of the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts.
