The British World: political, social and cultural development

St Petersburg University invites you to join the international research conference "The British World: political, social and cultural development".

The conference will bring together leading specialists in British studies of major research and educational centres from more than 30 cities across Russia and neighbouring countries.

The conference discussion will encompass issues related to the history, historiography, culture, political structure, and international politics of Great Britain spanning from the Medieval period to the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Speakers

  • Mikail Lipkin, Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow)
  • Lorina Repina, Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Senior Research Associate, Head of the Department of Historical and Theoretical Research at the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow)
  • Tatyana Labutina, Senior Research Associate, Head of the Centre for History of Cross-Cultural Communications between the West and the East at the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow)
  • Larisa Chernova, Head of the Department of World History at N.G. Chernyshevsky Saratov State University
  • Elena Ananyeva, Head of the Centre for British Studies at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow)
  • Sergey Fedorov, Professor at St Petersburg University
