St Petersburg University Celebrates St Petersburg’s Foundation Day
SPbU celebrates the anniversary of foundation our beloved city and invites you to join special events hosted by SPbU to honour this day.
St Petersburg University was established and has developed in parallel with the city, founded by Peter the Great. This year, we will celebrate the foundation day of St Petersburg at Three Centuries Square by the Peter I Fountain. The fountain was named in honour of Peter the Great to mark the 300th anniversary of SPbU.
On this day, you have a unique opportunity to declare your love for your hometown—or the city that has become your home—by celebrating St Petersburg in its very heart, on the grounds of the country’s oldest university, founded by Peter the Great. Everyone is welcome to take part in the campaign ‘A Love Letter to the City...!’ by reciting a poem, an excerpt from a verse or prose, all woven together by the motif of love for St Petersburg.
To participate in the celebrations as a reciter, you will need to:
- Register via the link
- Select a literary work celebrating St Petersburg or related to its history, its residents, etc.
- Please note that each performance should last no longer than 1-2 minutes
Selection of performers will be made according to relevance to the event theme and originality of the literary works. Following registration, the organiser will contact the performer via the email address provided during registration.
