Russian Society "Znanie": Five foreign educators shortlisted for a new nomination for foreigners for Znanie. Prize
Applications have been submitted by 165 applicants from 34 countries. The winner of the nomination, along with the other laureates, will be announced at an award ceremony to be held in February at the International RUSSIA EXPO at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre.
Among the nominees are representatives of very different professions, including: teachers and university professors; heads of scientific and cultural centres; diplomats; and journalists, who form an objective view of Western and European policies towards Russia to an international audience, fight against falsification, and strive to give the world a true picture of contemporary events and our country’s role in them. They support and develop international cooperation in a variety of fields, including science and culture, tell stories about Russia beyond its borders, and share unique facts about outstanding figures in Russian theatre, fine arts, cinema and other creative fields. The nominees also provide information about the educational and career opportunities in Russia for young people around the world. At the same time, many of them help not only in words but also in deeds, actively supporting the inhabitants of new regions of Russia: creating an educational environment for the young generation of the regions; raising humanitarian aid; and volunteering.
Znanie. Prize is the country’s main educational award, established by the Russian Society "Znanie" in 2021 to recognise the achievements of educators, lecturers, authors, bloggers, science popularisers and other educators, as well as to honour educational projects and enterprises in various fields.
This year’s nominees include Karin Kneissl, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria (2017-2019). Today, Karin Kneissl is the head of the GORKI Centre (the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues) at St Petersburg University, analyst and energy expert. She delivers open lectures to students and professors on topical issues of present-day geopolitics. She has lectured at more than ten major international conferences and forums attended by more than 200,000 people from 130 countries.
