Regnum: Prospective students from abroad had submitted 20% more applications compared to 2021
According to the Minutes of the Rector’s Meeting dated 15 August 2022, prospective students from abroad had submitted 20% more applications to places funded by the Russian Government compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2021.
SPbU will admit 1000 foreign applicants on Government-funded places within the framework of the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation. The same amount of applicants will be admitted on a fee-paying (contractual) basis.
‘During an independent competitive selection of foreign citizens for places within the quota set by the Russian Government SPbU received more than 5000 applications from foreign prospective students, which is almost 20% more than in 2021, and 30% more than in 2020’, the Minutes said.
In 2022, St Petersburg University admitted almost 2200 applicants in total to bachelor and specialist degree programmes. Among these applicants are winners and awardees of olympiads, disabled persons, orphans, children of special military operation veterans.
