SPbU Student Becomes Absolute Winner of the International Student Olympiad in Mathematics
Budimir Baev has won the Grand final of the olympiad held on 28–29 September at the Ariel University, Israel.
The competition was launched in December 2015 and at first was being held in the Internet in several stages. Only about a hundred people out of more than six thousand young mathematicians from around the world could make it to the final stage.
Like last year, the absolute winner was Budimir Baev of St Petersburg University. Team championship took place on the second day of the olympiad. The best team was that of the North-West of Russia, from St Petersburg (students of St Petersburg University and Baltic State Technical University).
