Due to the pandemic, the 2020 graduates of St Petersburg University can take their state examinations next year
St Petersburg University students will have the possibility, if they want, to take their state examinations next year providing they are not included in their final assessment. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This decision was made at the Rector’s meeting on 19 May during the discussion of questions from students at the University’s Virtual Reception Office. In their requests, students noted that taking state examinations is not just an opportunity to prove their knowledge, but, for example, an additional opportunity to confirm their proficiency in rare foreign languages. Thus, students of all academic programmes who feel the need to demonstrate their knowledge and competencies during the exam will be able to join the students graduating in 2021. The document confirming that the examination has been passed will be issued as a supplement to the 2020 diploma.
It should be noted that St Petersburg University has been issuing its own institutional diplomas in Russian and English since May 2010. During these 10 years, the format of the diploma has been improved several times. For example, starting with 2016, all diplomas have a QR code that allows potential employers to obtain full information about the graduate. By following the link to the personal page of the University graduate on the St Petersburg University portal, the employer can also read the text of their graduation project. The diplomas of those 2020 graduates who would like to get exam grades next year will have a supplement confirming their passing of state examinations.
