Exhibition of the prize winners of the ‘Russia and the USA: A Step Forward’ contest to be held in Manhattan
The exhibition of the prize winners of the ‘Russia and the USA: A Step Forward’ will be held at the Representative Office of St Petersburg University in the United States. Sergey Andryushin, Deputy Rector for International Affairs of St Petersburg University, spoke about it during the summing up of the contest at a meeting of the Association of Leading Universities.
The jury of the ‘Russia and the USA: A Step Forward’ contest have decided on the winners of the creativity contest, who presented the most talented and original works in four competitive nominations. In the near future, 21 students will receive diplomas and commemorative prizes from St Petersburg University. According to Sergey Andryushin, the idea of holding the contest originated during the opening of the Representative Office of St Petersburg University in the USA in Manhattan.
After this event, it was decided to support the development of USA–Russia relations and give students an opportunity to reflect on this topic. Unfortunately, today we cannot honour the contestants in person, shake their hands, and present diplomas. However, all the gifts and prizes will be sent to them by mail. We are also planning to organise an exhibition of the works by the creativity contest winners in our Representative Office in the USA.

The ‘Russia and the USA: A Step Forward’ contest is organised by the Association of Leading Universities and the Council of University Rectors of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region with the support of TASS. The creativity contest is designed to boost creativity of student youth, focused on finding and solving urgent issues and future challenges in the development of relations between Russia and the United States of America.
The contest is being held during a challenging period of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the number of participants has turned out to be so large that it inspires optimism. In my opinion, the presented works merit serious attention.
