St Petersburg University announces the results of the international students' enrolment
St Petersburg University has finished accepting applications from foreign applicants for the nondegree programme 'Preparatory Course (for international citizens)'
The Preparatory Department of St Petersburg University helps foreign nationals prepare for further studies at the bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s and doctorate programmes of their choice.
This year, the Admissions Committee received over 300 applications from foreign nationals from 70 countries. As many as 181 applicants were recommended for enrolment, including 88 for fulltime studies and 22 for distance learning. This is twice the number of applicants compared to last year. The majority of applications come from the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Turkey, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America. The number of applicants from European countries has also increased, including from the Kingdom of Denmark, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Republic of Austria, and the Republic of Ireland.
Lists of successful candidates are published on the website of the Admissions Committee of St Petersburg University.
For full-time students, invitations to enter the Russian Federation will be issued, subject to the lifting of restrictions. Due to the complicated epidemiological situation and distance application process, invitations shall not be issued for the purposes of application, participation in the competition and for other purposes. As a reminder, the first semester of the programme is devoted to the study of Russian as a foreign language. In the second semester the students can begin to study the profile disciplines of their chosen specialisation. Applicants can opt for one of five profiles: Natural Science, Engineering, Humanities, Economics or Medicine and Biology. After completing the course, students shall have a final assessment and take a test in Russian as a foreign language (level TORFL-I). Students who pass the test are issued a certificate in the standard form established by St Petersburg University.
