The National Philanthropy Day opens the online exhibition "The Collegia of Emperor Alexander II of Russia for students at St Petersburg University". The exhibition is dedicated to the first student hall of residence in Russia. The railway magnate Samuel Polyakov donated funds for the construction of the building and a scholarship to students of St Petersburg Imperial University. The central exhibit of the exhibition will be "A brief report of the commission on the construction of the building of the Collegia of Emperor Alexander II of Russia for students at St Petersburg University, established by Samuel Polyakov". This rare printed publication was donated by S. Shishkin to the St Petersburg University History Museum in 2023.
