Monuments and People During the Great Patriotic War: At the Crossroads of Destinies
St Petersburg University will host an academic conference titled ’Monuments and People During the Great Patriotic War: At the Crossroads of Destinies’. Marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory in 1941–1945, dedicated to the heroism of those who saved cultural and historical treasures during the Great Patriotic War and in the post-war period.
‘University at War. 1941-1945’ exhibition opening
St Petersburg University will hold the exhibition ‘University at War. 1941-1945’. The exhibition presents unique materials and documents from collections of St Petersburg University History Museum, many of which are being made publicly available for the first time. The exhibition also incorporates findings from historical research conducted by the University scholars and memoirs of the University staff and students who were veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Honouring the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War
Marking 80 years since Victory in the Great Patriotic War, St Petersburg University will hold memorial events to honour the Soviet peoples defence of their homeland and ensure this pivotal historical period is never forgotten.
