The programme is designed to train healthcare professionals in modern methods of anaesthetic protection of the organism from extreme effects during surgical interventions, as well as resuscitation and intensive care in critical conditions caused by disease, injury and poisoning. Modern pedagogical technologies are used in the training process (including the full range of digital skills and tools, including specialised training and simulation programmes, remote computer testing and distance learning).
A training simulation course with manikins is part of the process of acquiring the necessary manual skills, such as tracheal intubation, central and peripheral venous catheterisation, regional anaesthesia, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, etc. Residents are required to master the principles of emergency anaesthesia in urgent situations. In the second year of training, residents undertake practical placements in intensive care units, where they develop skills in the management of critically ill patients and planned post-operative care.
The programme offers training in a variety of clinical settings, including leading hospitals in the city. Residents have the opportunity to train in various areas of anaesthesia under the conditions of a general hospital and in respiratory therapy based on the Municipal Pulmonology Centre of the Vvedensky Municipal Hospital. Critical care training is based at the Research Institute of Ambulance, where intensive care units of various specialities (shock, burns, cardiology, toxicology, sepsis) are presented. There are also opportunities to train in specialised areas of intensive care in the city’s sepsis and toxicology centres.
Lectures and seminars are given by the city’s leading specialists and faculty members with more than 10-15 years of teaching experience.
