Open call for Fall semester 2022/ Spring semester 2023

St Petersburg University has started the selection process to grant visiting professorships to eligible candidates from non-Russian universities and research institutions within the SPbU Visiting Professor Program for the fall semester 2022/ Spring semester 2023. The fall semester runs from the beginning of September 2022 till the middle of January 2023. The spring semester runs from the middle of February 2023 to the end of July 2023.

We are inviting candidates from foreign universities interested in lecturing official courses at Bachelors and Masters Level.

In order to apply for the SPbU Visiting Professors programme, please follow the steps below:

  1. Eligibility criteria
    • PhD degree
    • Academic teaching experience in the field of the proposed courses, or in a discipline related to the proposed courses
    • Professional experience, publications and research in relation to the specific content of the proposed courses
    • Experience teaching courses using the English language
    • Preferable H-index 10

Brief description:

The goal of the course is to discuss key concepts and practical applications of institutional economics, which includes the theory of property rights, the theory of transaction costs, the theory of contracts, economics and law, the evolutionary economics of the firm, and the new economic history.

The course is to study the legal, organizational and social factors of economic development, doing business and intra-company organization, develop the skills of independent choice and use of the necessary tools to study specific economic problems. It should cover the internal diversity of modern institutional economic theory, and build the understanding the links with other areas of economic research.
