Programme description

The programme is aimed at fundamental comprehensive and high-quality training of academic staff in the field of: history of the Ancient World (history of Ancient East, history of Antiquity, history of America and Africa in antiquity); history of the Middle Ages (history of Western, Central and South-Eastern Europe, history of Byzantium, history of the Slavs, history of the Medieval East); history of the early Modern Times (including Renaissance and Reformation); Modern History (17th β€” 19th centuries); contemporary history (20th β€” 21st centuries); history of civilisations, countries, peoples, regions; social history and history of social processes, institutions, structures, dynamics of historical sociality; political power in history, history of the state and its institutions; history of political culture; reforms and revolutions in history; socio-economic history; history of international relations; military history and history of armed forces; man and personality in history; history of social thought, intellectual history; history of culture, science and education; history of religion and church; gender history; and regions and countries in the world history. 

The programme is aimed at comprehensive and high-quality training of academic staff capable of: conducting independent research in the field of their professional interests; teaching a wide range of disciplines for students of higher education institutions on the history of the target language country or region, the history of diplomatic and international relations of the countries of the Afro-Asian world; and carrying out expert activity, thanks to an integrated approach to training. The programme provides for the study of: Ancient East, the history of Asia and Africa in the Middle Ages; and the history of Asia and Africa in the Modern and Contemporary Periods. During the training, students master the skills of analysing the data obtained in the course of research on the history of Asia and Africa; and prepare for teaching Oriental disciplines and Asian and African languages in higher education institutions, secondary and secondary vocational educational institutions, educational institutions of additional education. They also prepare for research and expert activity in the field of: ensuring cultural exchanges and humanitarian mutual understanding; making forecasts related to the analysis of trends in the historical development of Asia and Africa; the conjuncture of commodity positions; trade and economic relations with the countries of Asia and Africa with the Russian Federation; and the activities of individual companies and organisation to name just a few.
