Programme description
- The master’s programme "Lawyer in the Field of Sports Law (Sports Lawyer)" is aimed at developing in students competences in public regulation and self-regulation of sports (united by the category of sports law)
- The master’s programme enables graduates to be fully functional in: the relevant government agencies in the field of physical education and sport; law firms providing advice in sports matters; and legal positions in sports federations, sports leagues, and sports clubs
- The programme takes into account the practices of the best world master’s programmes in sports law (Australia, Great Britain, Spain, the USA, Switzerland). The programme is qualitatively distinguished by its comprehensive approach to the construction of its content that takes into account: the peculiarities of the Russian legal system for public regulation and self-regulation of sports; and the logic of the thematic content for each semester
- The vast majority of lecturers in the master’s programme are practicing lawyers from: government agencies in the field of physical education and sport; law firms providing advice in sports matters; and sports federations, and sports clubs

Graduates are capable of:
- Preparing opinions on legal issues arising in the activities of subjects in the field of physical training and sports; and monitoring the compliance of the above activities with the requirements of the current legislation and regulatory documents of sports federations and leagues
- Preparing documents required for the sports club to undergo licencing procedure in compliance with the requirements of regulatory documents of sports federations and leagues; preparing documents and making other commitments necessary for the application of athletes and the coaching and administrative staff of the club in order to ensure their participation in official competitions
- Carrying out legal examination and developing internal regulatory documents in the field of physical training and sports by subjects; carrying out legal examination of agreements concluded by subjects in the field of physical training and sports
- Representing the interests of subjects in the field of physical training and sports in: government agencies; sports federations; leagues; clubs; sports schools; sports agencies; and other sports organisations
- Conducting claims work; representing in courts, the jurisdictional bodies of sports federations and leagues, and arbitration institutions on behalf of entities in the field of physical training and sports
