Programme description
- The Bachelor’s degree programme in English as a Foreign Language in Teaching and Communication (with the additional qualification of "Teacher of English" / "Translation Specialist") combines rigorous theoretical training in linguistics, pedagogy, psychology, foreign language teaching methodology, translation studies and intercultural communication theory with a practical component that facilitates the implementation of language activities in English, including in the workplace
- During the course of the programme, students will acquire skills in teaching English as a second language using modern information and communication technologies, creating their own teaching materials, translating and interpreting
- The programme is suitable for applicants who wish to improve their knowledge of English as a language of intercultural communication and use it as a tool in their future careers in education or translation

She has been awarded the badge ‘Honoured Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation’
- Larisa Tarnaeva, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics. Her research focuses on the development of linguocultural competence, linguodidactics of translation, discourse analysis, and the theory of intercultural communication. She is the author of over 100 scholarly papers, and teaching and learning materials
- Irina Pavlovskaya, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics; author of more than 100 scholarly publications devoted to issues in language testing, the teaching of phonetics and listening comprehension, the psycholinguistic fundamentals of teaching foreign languages, theoretical phonetics, phonosemantics, and phonostylistics
- Maria Kopylovskaya, Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics. Her research focuses on professionally oriented communication in English, the theory and methods of digitalising foreign language education, and the theory of speech errors. She is the author of more than 60 scholarly papers
- Yulia Sedelkina, Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics. Her research interests are reflected in over 60 publications and research projects in the fields of phonosemantics, phonostylistics, and the theory and methods of teaching foreign languages
- Ekaterina Osipova, Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics; author of over 40 scholarly papers on corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, the linguodidactics of translation, and the use of smart technologies in teaching foreign languages
- Olga Zhuravleva, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics; author of more than 30 publications in the fields of the history of the English language, Germanic philology, and the theoretical issues in English grammar
- Marina Belova, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics; expert in English lexicology, English stylistics, and English phonetics, as well as in translation studies and translation/interpreting practice.
