Around twenty departments are involved in training pharmacists at SPbU. These departments cover a range of subjects, including humanities, socio-economics, natural sciences, biomedical sciences, and professional and special disciplines. Additionally, students can choose from a variety of elective courses.

The educational programme ’Pharmacy’ at SPbU utilises:

- e-learning, distance learning and modern digital educational technologies, including SPbU online courses According to the SPbU established policy, students are able to transfer credits for online courses from other educational institutions
- The educational process adheres to the educational programme and the calendar plan within a unified university cultural and educational environment. This environment is supported by scientific, educational, and intellectual resources, as well as modern educational and communication technologies
The SPbU provides the material, technical, pedagogical, methodological and other conditions for the implementation of the educational programme in accordance with the established procedure and the resources of the partner organisations.
The needs of students with disabilities are taken into consideration, including their physical and mental development, individual abilities, and health condition.
The educational programme is led by prominent scientists, alongside young researchers and acknowledged industry practitioners.
