The undergraduate programme "Spanish Language" (with additional qualifications of "Spanish Language Teacher" / "Translator") is designed to prepare versatile professionals in the fields of intercultural and interlinguistic communication, translation, and Spanish language teaching. Throughout the programme, students acquire proficiency in several foreign languages, gain extensive knowledge of the cultures of the respective language regions, and develop a deep understanding of linguistic and general humanities disciplines. Additionally, students develop professional competencies in translation and foreign language teaching.
Students receive a rigorous general philological and linguistic education following the carefully preserved traditions of the St Petersburg School of Linguistics. It enables students to continue their studies in the chosen field, and advantageously solve specific professional tasks in a variety of activities. This academic programme offers students the opportunity to develop practical skills in translation and interpreting between Russian and Spanish across a variety of stylistic and thematic contexts. Students will gain professional proficiency in several foreign languages, acquire extensive knowledge of the cultures associated with these languages and regions, and have in-depth linguistics and general humanitarian knowledge. A special focus in training future specialists is on the early development of professional skills and competences within the framework of various internships and career guidance events.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates are awarded the additional qualifications ‘Teacher of Foreign Language and Literature’ / ‘Translator/Interpreter’.

Graduates receive a solid foundation in philology and linguistics, rooted in the well-preserved traditions of the St Petersburg Linguistic School. This enables them not only to pursue further education in their chosen field but also to successfully address specific professional challenges in various areas. They acquire skills in oral and written translation and gain in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
