Head of the G.O.R.K.I. Centre Karin Kneissl, spoke at the 12th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum
The 12th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF — 2023) took place this autumn, which has already become unprecedented not only in terms of the number of participants, but also in the volume of topics discussed. Currently, the Forum has become an important platform for the most diverse participants, whose attention is focused on the gas industry, as well as other areas of business, industry and science. Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Arab world have become the main focus of attention and discussions of the Forum participants. Also within the framework of PMGF-2023 the Youth Day was held — a project that allows young professionals to find their vocation and prove themselves in the field.
The forum events were attended by Karin Kneissl, an expert-analyst in the field of energy, professor, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Head of the G.O.R.K.I. Centre Karin Kneissl. Professor Karin Kneissl presented her report on «Central Asia is the "Heartland" of geopolitics of natural gas» at the section «Russia — Central Asia: dialogue and cooperation in the gas sector». On the second day of the forum, Karin Kneissl acted as an expert at the session «Development of the Russian gas industry: Can we overcome the loss of pipeline exports to Europe».
Viktor Titov, Deputy Head of the G.O.R.K.I. Centre, First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics of St. Petersburg State University, and Professor Nikita Lomagin of St. Petersburg State University participated as experts at the XII St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
