Public lecture by Karin Kneissl, Head of the G.O.R.K.I. Centre. Karin Kneissl "Territory, History and Religion in the Arab-Israeli Dilemma" at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of SPbU

The Eastern Faculty of SPbU hosted a public lecture by the head of the G.O.R.K.K.I. Centre Karin Kneissl, energy analyst, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, gave a public lecture entitled "Territory, History and Religion in the Arab-Israeli Dilemma". The lecture was attended by more than 400 students of SPbU.

During the lecture students were actively involved in the discussion process, shared their opinions and asked many questions. The most relevant topics were the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the prospects for its development, escalation or slowdown of the conflict, as well as aspects related to energy security in the region. 

The students who attended the lecture expressed their delight at this format of meetings. At Professor Karin Kneissl's suggestion, similar lectures will be organised in the future, the next of which will be on the topic of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
