Programme description
  • The programme is aimed at applicants with a university degree in various social, humanitarian and artistic fields (journalism, cultural studies, history of arts, philosophy, philology, sociology, history, socio-cultural activitity, etc.) who wish to continue their studies or gain additional knowledge in the field of culture-oriented journalism
  • The programme focuses on the development of professional competences, involving both the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the acquisition of practical skills and abilities. During training, master’s students acquire knowledge of: current trends in culture coverage and forms of presenting cultural information in the media; theoretical and methodological approaches to analysis of cultural processes and phenomena; specifics, methods and principles of work of a cultural journalist who covers issues of arts, science, education, religion, ethnocultural interaction, political culture, everyday cultural practices and can provide analysis of moral and spiritual aspects of modern society
  • Students of the programme have an opportunity to master journalist’s creative skills, including by attending number of trainings and master classes conducted by creative studios and recognized practitioners
  • Main centers of professional and creative training are represented by the editorial offices of the St Petersburg media
