The bachelor’s programme ‘Nursing’ is designed to train specialists in medicine, who know and are able to use cutting-edge innovative technologies of healthcare of citizens by providing qualified nursing care in accordance with the established requirements and standards in the field of healthcare.
St Petersburg University provides for an individual approach to students. It also provides an opportunity to participate in research activities under the supervision of the University academic staff.
The interdisciplinary approach enables students to improve their knowledge not only within their chosen major, but also in related disciplines. Highly practice-oriented training is ensured by: mastering skills in the Simulation Centre of St Petersburg University using state-of-the-art highly realistic equipment; and organising practical training at leading clinical bases. These unique features of the ‘Nursing’ academic programme make it possible to develop in students a high level of professional skills and prepare them to use advanced methods and technologies, including digital ones, based on the latest scientific achievements in the field of medicine.

The University clinical model of internships is used to motivate and guide St Petersburg University students towards creative and professional fulfilment. Internships at the University clinics can be preceded and accompanied by training sessions. While doing the internships, students participate in professional activities or processes that simulate different types of professional activities.
The programme is interdisciplinary. It focuses on two areas of professional practice: nursing and nursing administration.
The programme is taught using electronic/distance technology: webinars, videoconferences, recording of video lectures, online courses, and multimedia content.
