SPbU will held the online exhibition "Hermann von Petz" as a part of the "History of palaeontology at St Petersburg University" series of exhibitions.
Series of online exhibitions tells about the most significant personalities and events in the history of palaeontology of St Petersburg University.
Hermann von Petz was a geologist, keeper of geological cabinet of SPbU, privatdozent on paleontological stratigraphy. Also, he was an author of scientific articles, including "On some fauna representatives of the Lower Devon at the Severo-Zaozerskaya cottage in Ural", "Hemiplethorynchus — subgenus of Camarotoechia genus". Hermann von Petz died at 41 years old while carrying out geological investigation.
