Poet, poetess, poetry... The role of female authors in the general poetry mainstream
Contemporary women’s poetry in Russia has recently become a vibrant phenomenon in the literary process, sparking increasing interest as something understudied or even not fully discovered. Women’s voice in poetry is confidently manifesting itself in the ways of poetic self-identification, in the choice of themes, in the manner of writing, and in the attitude to language. The lecture will focus on different types of poetic practices, incorporating common sociocultural experiences, current responses to the challenges of time and a new model of thinking in the development of feminist poetry.
