St Petersburg University will host a lecture of Ali Akbar Salehi on "The role of science and scientists in diplomacy" topic. The lecture will be held in English.
Ali Akbar Salehi is a nuclear physicist. In 2009–2010 and 2013-2021, he headed the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran. In 2011–2013, he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran. In 2003-2008, he represented Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He is currently a professor at the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran and a member of the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has extensive contacts among the academic community of Iran.
