Active work of St Petersburg University’s representative offices is well underway
Representative offices of St Petersburg University have been opened in the Republic of Korea, China, Spain, Greece, Italy and Turkey. They serve many purposes: mutual promotion of cultures and languages, organisation of scientific conferences and round tables. They enable researchers to share scientific achievements and exchange opinions with their international colleagues, development of opportunities for international academic exchange.
Currently, all international representative offices of St Petersburg University continue their work. The activity of the representative office in Berlin has been temporarily suspended following the initiative of the German side. In other countries, all the events take place according to the approved plan. Thus, the first cycle of online lectures on joint history of Russia and Greece attended by over 100 students was completed in the representative office of St Petersburg University in Greece on the basis of the Centre of the Russian Language and Culture ’Russian Word’. The classes of a non-degree programme for translators were also completed. Besides, at the end of February, state testing in Russian as a foreign language was held in different cities of Greece.
The Russian House in Barcelona that hosts a Spanish representative office of St Petersburg University is planning to hold: a summer school of piano playing and singing with the participation of teachers from St Petersburg University; and classes of Russian as a foreign language and language testing. An open house day will also take place in Spain, where future applicants will learn about the application process, school and student Olympiads and other intellectual competitions.
Career building events will be held in the representative offices of St Petersburg University opened on the basis of Harbin Institute of Technology (China), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (the Republic of Korea), the University of Bologna and the University of Siena (Italy).
Everyone will be able to attend open lectures on schedule devoted to history, art and linguistics, international research conferences and workshops.
