Consulate of Bangladesh to open scholarship for SPbU’s students
The Consulate of Bangladesh in St Petersburg has opened additional scholarships for SPbU’s talented students who study Bengalee. The agreement was signed by SPbU’s Rector Nikolay Kropachev and Honoured Consul of Bangladesh Sergei Fursenko.
The Consulate of Bangladesh has been encouraging SPbU’s students who study Bengalee and is planning to expand its collaboration with the University. “The scholarships are the first step in expanding our collaboration. Further, we are planning to arrange students exchange, which will help them gain a deeper insight into Bengalee and will be a positive experience for the students from Bangladesh”, — said the Honoured Consul of Bangladesh Sergei Fursenko.
The University is highly interested in enhancing collaboration with the Consulate beyond the academic sphere: “We have discussed new opportunities for collaboration, including those with business community of Bangladesh in Russia”, said Nikolay Kropachev.
Russia-Bangladesh collaboration is on the rise. In 2017, Gazprom and Petrobangla signed an agreement to build two exploration wells south of Bangladesh. The agreement and other joint projects including the agreement to build a nuclear power plant Ruppur in Bangladesh, implies that we are expanding our relationships, which will contribute to internship programmes of the students who study Bengalee, said Sergei Fursenko.
