The Graduate School of Management at St Petersburg University and MegaFon announce the Olympiad for the First

The competition is timed to coincide with the anniversary of MegaFon and the Graduate School of Management at St Petersburg University. This year, the largest Russian telecommunications company and the leading business school in Russia celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Third- and fourth-year bachelor’s students and first- and second-year master’s students of Russian universities can enter the contest. Besides, 2022 graduates — engineers, marketers, managers, analysts, and developers — are also invited to participate. To get into one of the contest teams, you need to select a competition stream (technical, commercial, or IT / big data), record and send a short video about yourself and your achievements.

The selection will be completed by 28 February 2023. Following the results of the selection, the organisers will form 20 multidisciplinary teams of five people each. From 17 March to 15 April, the teams will work on the project remotely. The contestants will have to evaluate the tourism potentials of different regions of Russia and determine the most promising region for the development of a telecommunication network, products and services.

Guided by mentors from MegaFon and experts from the Graduate School of Management at St Petersburg University, students will learn to: analyse supply and demand dynamics; create consumer profiles for B2B and B2C marketing; develop product and service concepts for the target consumers; and plan a marketing campaign to promote these products and services. On 15 April 2023, the teams will present and defend their solutions.

The final round of the competition and the awarding ceremony will be held on 27 April 2023 on the GSOM SPbU campus "Mikhailovskaya Dacha".

Thirty winners will be named based on the individual and team performance. The winners of the contest will receive cash prizes. Also, they will be able to participate in an accelerated internship selection and will be included in MegaFon’s personnel reserves — a pool of priority candidates for open vacancies. The leaders of MegaFon and the Graduate School of Management at St Petersburg University will write letters of recommendation for the winners, and career consultations will be held by experts from the business school and the company. All finalists will receive memorable gifts.
