New modules added to SPbU online course History of Russia
SPbU’s Centre for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources has been working with online course developers to bring course materials into line with the current requirements of the state’s educational standards.
The update affected a number of courses, in particular two modules were added to the History of Russia course programme. "History of Russian Traditional Religions" introduces listeners to the religions practised in the vast expanses of the country: Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism. The module "History of Russia 2000-2022" tells about the life of the country in the new millennium.
The course is now worth four credits, which corresponds to the current requirements of the Federal State Standard on the minimum number of credits allocated to the study of the History of Russia course at universities as part of the educational programmes of bachelor’s and specialist degrees.
The History of Russia course covers the history of the Russian state from the ninth to the twenty-first century and invites students to discuss current research issues. Carefully selected factual material invites the listener to further independently analyse the history of Russian statehood and to form an informed civic position.
The new version of the online course is already available for study on the Open Education platform.
