As part of St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023, St Petersburg University and the Centre for Military Patriotic Education "Avangard" agree on cooperation
St Petersburg University and the Educational and Methodological Centre for Military Patriotic Education of Youth "Avangard" have signed a cooperation agreement at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The agreement was signed by Elena Chernova, Senior Vice-Rector of St Petersburg University and Acting Rector of St Petersburg University, and Daria Borisova, Director of the Educational and Methodological Centre for Military Patriotic Education of Youth "Avangard".
The parties agreed to organise and conduct sports competitions and joint educational events aimed at the military patriotic education of students.
At the University, young people are not only enriched intellectually, but also morally. They find their own guidelines here, which will help them develop throughout their life.

‘This is why the role of the University, lecturers and mentors, especially today, is becoming so significant: we are responsible for their military patriotic education, love for their Motherland and their land. I am sure that the agreement will enable us to create all the conditions for the harmonious development of the youth of Russia,’ said the Elena Chernova, Senior Vice-Rector of St Petersburg University and Acting Rector of St Petersburg University.
The cooperation with the University opens up great opportunities for students, said Daria Borisova, Director of the Educational and Methodological Centre for Military Patriotic Education of Youth "Avangard".
‘I am very glad that on the first day of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, we sign such an important document for all of us. I am sure that together with the University we will hold more than one joint event, combining both the educational function and our experience in the field of initial military training in order to develop the right military patriotic civilian component in life of young people,’ said Daria Borisova.
Today, St Petersburg University has the Military Training Centre and a student search team "Ingria" to popularise military history and develop civic consciousness among students. The University regularly holds various military patriotic events. Among them are: concerts, expeditions, relay races, and memory watches. There are also humanitarian aid collections for refugees from the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic, and Ukraine.
