By quality of education, SPbU is 43 among 27,000 universities globally
October 16, CWUR World University Rankings have been published by the CWUR headquartered in Saudi Arabia.
This year, the rankings listed the top 1,000 out of 27,000 degree-granting institutions of higher education worldwide, making them the largest academic rankings of global universities. According to the information letter, SPbU is in the top 1.6%.
The rankings measure the quality of education and research. Four out of eight indicators relate to research indicators:
- Publications
- Influence, measured by the number of research papers appearing in highly-influential journals
- Citations
- Broad Impact, measured by the university's h-index
- Another indicator is Patents measured by the number of international patent filings.
The three main indicators that account for 75% relate to the quality of education. Quality of Faculty is measured by the number of academics who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals.
SPbU is 240
in the Quality of Faculty globally.
Alumni Employment is measured by the number of a university's alumni who have held CEO positions at the world's top companies relative to the university's size. SPbU is 241st, with American and European companies prevailing in the list of employers. Applicants who think seriously about their career should look at this indicator when choosing where to study.
Quality of Education is measured by the number of a university's alumni who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals relative to the university's size. According to this indicator, SPbU has been put at the top from the first publications of the rankings: in 2017, SPbU has jumped 7 places to 43 than in 2016.
