SPbU launches more than 100 online courses on the Open Education platform
Starting on June 1, St Petersburg University launches online courses that were exclusively presented on Coursera international learning platform. More than 100 online courses and programmes of St Petersburg University, of which more than 70 are in English, including courses on learning Russian as a foreign language, quantum computing, management, psychology and many other subjects, will be available on the national Open Education platform.
Nowadays problems of import substitution are particularly acute, which have become even more important after international educational platforms Coursera and EdX decided to suspend cooperation with Russian universities on March 4, 2022. SPbU as a leader in online learning regards ensuring of free access to quality education for an international audience as its mission, despite sanctions and restrictions, therefore all online courses in English will be available to everyone free of charge.
This decision will allow Russian and foreign students to study the most high-demand courses of St Petersburg University and promote educational export development of the Russian Federation.
