SPbU: The only Russia’s university in the Financial Times European Business School Ranking — 2016

This year's list of the best universities in the world, according to Financial Times European Business School Ranking — 2016, features SPbU’s Graduate School of Management as the only representative from Russia – for the second time in a row.

“In 2013, SPbU’s Graduate School of Management entered Financial Times European Business School Ranking, while in 2012 года it was ranked first in Eastern Europe by EdUniversal, — said SPbU Rector Nikolay Kropachev. — The fact that we are among the world’s leading business schools proves our high-quality education. The ranking also features Prague School of Economics, Czech Republic; City University: Cass, Great Britain; Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark. Ranked 64 among the top 90, SPbU’s Graduate School of Management complies with the highest international Financial Times’ standards and remains the top business school in Russia. We have a long way to go yet to prove excellence in education and research not only locally, but globally as well”.

Senior Director Deputy of SPbU’s Graduate School of Management Konstantin Krotov told us how the analysis is done:  “Financial Times European Business School Ranking is an institutional ranking: it is based on the combined performance of Europe’s leading schools across the main rankings of programmes published in other FT’s rankings. For an educational programme to be included in the ranking it is necessary to comply with the performance indicators. The graduate programme Management of SPbU’s Graduate School of Management features in Financial Times Global Masters in Management, and in 2016 it has improved its performance and is ranked 39 among the top 90. Other universities’ programmes fail to comply with these ranking criteria. Hopefully, it is a matter of several years to see another our graduate programme Master in Corporate Finance — MCF in the ranking, mostly due to an increased number of enrolled applicants. We also hope to include another graduate programme Executive MBA, if we can measure graduates’ income”.

SPbU is a unique university in Russia, and Graduate School of Management is accredited by EQUIS, established by EFMD as a catalyst to enhance excellence in management education and development globally. EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses across three indicators: high academic quality of the degree programmes and their management, community outreach and close interaction with the corporate world. SPbU’s Graduate School of Management is headed by President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board  Andrey Kostin.
