SPbU raises its game in the Financial Times rankings

St Petersburg State University Graduate School of Management rises to 60th in the Financial Times European Business School Ranking 2015 and remains the only Russia’s provider of business education in the European Business School Ranking.

The European Business School Ranking is based on performance of the schools’ postgraduate programs in the four main rankings published by the FT each year: MBA, Executive MBA, Masters in Management and Executive Education in Business Schools in Europe. Produced by the Financial Times, an international daily newspaper with a distinctive focus on business and economic news in 24 countries worldwide, the Financial Times European Business School Ranking is a measure of the quality and breadth of business schools, in general, and programs in management and finance, in particular.

In 2015, SPbU climbs 1 place to 60th. In 2013, SPbU Graduate School of Management appeared for the first time in the Financial Times European Business School Ranking and since has remained the only Russia’s provider of business education that features in the rankings. Demonstrating high quality in performance of the master programs in management and Executive MBA and constantly enhancing it, SPbU keeps its crown as the best business school in Russia and achieves its rises in the world’s leading rankings. In particular, SPbU remains the only Russia’s representative in another Financial Times ranking – Master in Management. According to the results announced in September 2015, SPbU master program ‘Master in Management’ (taught in English) climbed 10 places to 46th, leaving behind a number of world’s leading business schools.

Note: Since 2012, SPbU business school has been the best education center in Eastern Europe, according to EdUniversal. This ranking offers a complex selection methodology: the International Scientific Committee, composed of 9 independent expert members and 2 executive members from EdUniversal, makes a preliminary list of the world’s best business schools that meet the ranking’s criteria. During the second round, the Deans of the leading business schools submit a vote for schools in each country. In 2014, SPbU received 315 votes (12 more than in 2013) and ranked 1th among the leading schools in Eastern Europe. Among the top 3 schools in this geographical zone, there was University of Economics, Prague, and Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. Among the schools in Eastern Europe in ‘5 Palms – Universal Business School’, MGU Graduate School of Business Administration ranked only 4th. SPbU Graduate School of Management is the only business school in Russia accredited by EQUIS. It is a hard nut to crack – institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in performance of their education programs on a global scale, but also a high degree of internationalisation and technological infrastructure, cooperation with the world’s leading companies, as well as develop and implement a coherent marketing strategy. Besides, SPbU is the only Russia’s business school in the global alliances of business schools (CEMS, PIM, GRLI, and others). Students have a chance to pursue education in the program of the 'dual diploma’ implemented with the leading associations (CEMS
